Glavine to Boston? Ortiz on the block? Steinbrenner wants Moyer?

White Sox GM Ken Williams hardly distanced himself from a possible deal involving free agent-to-be Magglio Ordonez. Andruw Jones, who is signed with Atlanta through 2007, is a definite possibility.
    -- The Chicago Tribune (6/28)

Upset about hearing that the White Sox had acquired Freddy Garcia, George Steinbrenner called an impromptu between-games meeting yesterday to talk about Seattle left-hander Jaime Moyer and Braves right-hander Russ Ortiz.
    -- The Star Ledger (6/28)

The Mets could have landed Freddy Garcia, but they were unwilling to part with their best prospect, David Wright.
    -- New York Post (6/28)

When Angels manager Mike Scioscia told Ramon Ortiz, a 16-game winner last year, that he would be returning to the bullpen, Ortiz asked to be traded.
    -- Los Angeles Times (6/28)

If the Mets fall out of the NL East race, don't be surprised if Tom Glavine accepts a trade to Boston, his hometown.
    -- Newsday (6/28)

When Boston's Ramiro Mendoza finally shows he's healthy, he could be on the move to Baltimore.
    -- The Boston Globe (6/28)

I'd love to have Glavine in Boston to add a much needed lefty to the rotation. Just depends on how much we have to give up in return. Glavine is pretty old, but he could definitely help us out this year and the next, depending on when he retires.

I for one do not want to see glavine leave the mets. The guy could easily have ten wins and a Cy young candidate on the Mets if he just had a lil more run support. Plus, he is not a guy that relies on fastballs and strike outs so he may be able pitch into his 40's with some success. I say don't do it. As far as giving up Wright for Garcia, that would have been a horrible move. Garcia's good, but ain't that good...
