The Mariners "weren't interested" in trading Freddy Garcia and they did. This is just another move by Bill Bavasi to drive Moyer's value up, by the end of this month expect to see Moyer traded.

The backlash in the fan base would be too big. Not going to happen. The only way is if Moyer came out and said he wanted to play for a contender.

Moyer is a favorite Mariner, followed by Ichiro.

I think the backlash would be much more if they traded Edgar and Wilson, especially because they aren't having great seasons. While Moyer, is getting older, and playing well. I agree, if he said he wanted to play for a contender, they would do it fast.

The fanbase would be upset but they would get over it (for Moyer, maybe not for Edgar) .. He's got good value. Just like the New York Rangers trades Brian Leetch, the Mariners could trade Moyer if it meant making a playoff run next year.
