Ugh, Brenly was bad though. I'm convinced anybody could have won with the 2001 Diamondbacks. The number of boneheaded decisions he got away with... just plain lucky. The most popular being him using Kim in Game 5. It was just getting ugly. Calling out players constantly was not helping the situation either. It may work for veterans, but this team isn't a veteran team anymore. Yes, the offseason moves were terrible but Brenly showed quite well why he can't manage a young team (remember though, Brenly was partly responsible for Lyle Overbay, and look at him now). If some other team is happy with him, well good luck with that

He got fired for Joe Garagiola the GM. That six player trade to the Brewers ranks up there with the Brock trade for the Cubs back in the day. RJ, Finley, and Alomar are probably gone.
