    Josh Phelps WOW

In a bleak season in which the Blue Jays have not lived up to expectations it's good to see a couple bright spots in Miguel Batista and now Josh Phelps.

I know we have lots of Seattle fans on here so i'm sure they saw what Phelpsy has been doing. This guy was projected to be the future DH supreme in Toronto and now he's starting to live up to that billing. The guy has been known to hit towering HRs but now he's putting everything together by being a clutch hitter.

in fact his career Avg. with runners on scoring position is close to .400 and he's hit 2 bases loaded HRs.

This past series against the M's he was 6-for-9 with 3 HRs and 13 RBI

I hope some people put him on their fantasy teams because he's just tearing the cover off the ball.

I know not many people may care about this but for Blue Jay fans it's one of the few things we can be proud of.

At least Carlos didn't choke when it mattered last night. Also what a great at bat by Dave Berg to tire out Eddie Guardado.

He's still only hitting .246 with 9 home runs with over half the season completed. I guess you can be a little excited that he's turning things around, but a .270-25 HR season isn't much to crow about these days...

When the Blue Jays finally fire there coaching staff (which can't happen soon enough!), maybe they can get a good manager and a good coaching staff to help guys like Phelps and Eric Hinske live up to there potential, and whether Phelps starts to hit or not, the Blue Jays are going to trade Carlos Delgado, they need to get something for him rather than losing him to free agency, the Dodgers are very interested, the Orioles, who plan to pursue him in the offseason could try and get him now and sign him before he hits the market, and don't count out the Giants, Brian Sabean has pulled off some surprise deadline deals in the past, and the Giants could use a ligitimate bat behind Barry Bonds.

I haven't heard anything about the Giants wanting Delgado but the combination of Bonds and Delgado would be LETHAL! Do the Giants have any good pitching in the farm system that are close to Major League ready?
