Re: Mets call up David Wright

I read that the Benson trade will probably be completed within the next 24 hours. I have a gut feeling it will be Seo and Wigginton.

On the subject of Wright starting- I think this will be the perfect game to get accilimated to the big leagues; you are playing one of the worst clubs in baseball. Regardless, Zeile doesn't offer long term benefits for the franchise.

EDIT: Poster above me got the link.

Zeile does offer someone who's been through a pennant race before. I think Zeile should start the next 3 games with Wright being the starter on Saturday. Remember, this is New York, imagine the reaction if he totally sucks tonight.

The Pirates don't need pitching so I doubt that Seo would be sent back. I think the offer that Littlefield may agree too is the Wigginton and the minor league first basemen, Braizel(sp?) or something like that.

Actually, they don't need pitching. The minor league system for the Pirates are filled with pitching prospects who should be on this team in a year.

Vogelsong's stuff is there, but his head isn't. While Fogg hasn't looked great, he does get the job done. This coming from a longtime Fogg basher. He seems to find a way to win.

I'd be shocked if the Pirates were going to take any pitching with these trade rumors. The story in PGH from the Pirates GM is they want impact players at 1B, 3B and CF.

I think Wiggington would thrive in Pittsburgh. Still a major market but not nearly as much pressure
