What do you think about the Yankees getting a new stadium??

There has been alot of talk lately of Steinbrenner getting his new stadium across the street from the current spot in the Bronx approved. They're suppose to pull the same deal as the White Sox and just recreate the exact same dimensions/field just have the seating, concession stands, bathrooms, etc more 21st century.

I don't know, I don't mind the narrow seats and old bleechers of The Stadium right now. You just can't replace all the history that has taken place in there and it would be sacreligious to destroy it.

Fenway and Wrigley are the same way. You can't move the teams outta those places. It kinda makes my stomach turn just thinking about it.

they should just remodel the stadium so it has the historic feel and also a newer enviornment. Im in SF and there were a lot of history in Candlestick(??) but when they got Pac Bell Park built nobody even remembered Candlestick so it might be a good thing to have a new park

I also think it would be a bad idea. They should remodel Yankee Stadium, and they should do the same for Wrigley. Build a new park for the Yankees and face harsh, HARSH criticism from the fans. I hate the Yankees, and I agree it's almost sacreligious to try and get rid of ol' Yankee Stadium.

You guys have to remember that Yankee Stadium is essentially the same stadium that was built in the '20s. There was a huge renovation/upgrade in I believe 1975. At some point remodeling and/or a major facelift again might be a risky proposition in that you could face a decaying stadium in the coming years. I'm not so much against building a new stadium. I think they should build a new park yet keep Yankee Stadium in tact as a historical monument.
