Re: Anybody have ESPN insider?
I can't post the article that would be against the rules but a brief recap.
It basically says that Jays grossly underperformed this year. Largely due to injuries to Wells, Delgado, and Halladay. The offense went into a free fall, Eric Hinske has turned out to be a bust and the bullpen has been awful. Then goes on to say that the Jays are going to get younger with Rios, Frasor, Chulk and Gross and Ricciardi still has a five-year plan but Delgado probably won't be in it.
There, I hope that didn't go against the rules -

Re: Anybody have ESPN insider?
I agree that the Jays are going to go with a youth movement but it's ludicrus (sp) to say that the team is still on a 5 year plan because they've targeted 2005 as the year that the club will break out and become a major player. Well that plan has been derailed and the Jays will probably have to wait til '06 or '07 to really be a major player.
I do hope that Delgado stays tho because he's the only truly known quality on the club. They've tried to market Roy Halladay this year and what happens? He gets injury problems. It's also well known that marketing the team with a star pitcher doesn't work in Toronto, just look at Roger Clemens time here. On days that he started the attendence didn't appreciably go up and in some cases it actually went DOWN.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

I don't even know where to begin with the Jays.... I get frustrated just thinking about it.
My faith in JP has dipped a lot because of this season.Comment
