My My, don't umpires like to run the show.

Well... Wood was just screwed by the Umpire...Screwed out of a win...up by 8 and he hits his 3rd guy in the 5th with 1 out and he gets tossed. The Warning system of baseball is *** backwards, and needs to be "thrown out" so to speak. I think the ejection system needs to be changed to not a single judgement call..I think to eject someone all the umpires need to confer and decide together, obviously blatent cases...wrapping a bat around a guy head doesn't warrant a long confrence, but. This is insane...He's not throwing at anyone intentionally with an 8 point lead, and 2 outs till he gets waht appears to be an automatic win.

personally in NL games, I don't think pitchers should be ejected for hitting someone, intentional or not...let the teams sort it out themselves...trust me, if a pitcher hits too many guys or thrown to many intentional close ones, he'll know the next time he comes to bat....

Anyways....Just needed to vent about the Wood being screwd outta a win by the umps....I'm fine now....

    Umpires suck.

They need to realize that no one comes to the game to see them. It's one thing to keep the game under control, but some umpires take it way to far.

Didn't Oswalt get thrown out a little earlier for hitting someone? Or am I thinking of the game the day before? If that's the case, it could have been deemed retaliation.

yes oswalt was thrown out earlier for hitting Barret. However!! his was BLATENTLY intentional, he'd just givin up 4 runs...and well...it was apparent....something like that it's obvious...but Woods was like...HE's up by 8 with 2 outs till get qualifies for the win...he's hit 2 guys already on breaking balls.....his control is lacking some...I don't think he's intentionally looking to plunk into the recor books here fellas....plus..both benches were warned after Oswalt was tossed, so Dusty also got tossed with Wood....all because the ump wanted to play big **** and cost a guy a good win....

Let's leave out all the grassy knoll stuff, shall we? Bottom line is the rule says that if the benches have been warned, the pitcher and manager get ejected on a hit batter. Period.

In this instance, I think there's less room for argument- the guy hit THREE batters in one game.

However, umpires are generally getting out of hand. Braden Looper got thrown out BEFORE a warning was even issued in the second game of the doubleheader against the Rockies.

Sorry, but that's incorrect. Baseball Tonight did a show about 6 weeks ago where both benches had been warned and then later on in the game pitchers from both teams ended up hitting guys. Both Dibble and Brantley complimented the umpire on allowing them to stay in the game when both hit batsmen were obviously not intentional.

I'm not saying there is a conspiracy here, but what you said is definitely not in the rule book. Umpire's discretion.
