Re: 5/4 - 5/17 Game Discussion Thread
My reaction to Atlanta's bullpen:
No, but no one in this bullpen has earned enough confidence to have no one else warming. As soon as I saw Martin's walk and that he was missing by 2-ft I was wanting him out...and the 'pen is silent. Personally, I would have left Wood in anyway instead of pinch hitting...but Fredi is anti leaving the starter in. It's like he feels he needs to use the 'pen.Originally posted by Gibson88Anyone who asked for an ETA is not being Master of their Domain.
It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.Comment

ReOpening Day in Baltimore tonight vs Blue Jays. Jerseys are going to have "Baltimore" on them instead of "Orioles". Nice touchT-BONE.

I hate Marco Estrada.
I'm also getting sick and tired of the Jays hitters getting killed by these low and outside pitches that are being called strikes. It's beyond ridiculous sometimes.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

What are the umpires looking at in the Reds/Braves!? I could tell Pierzynski was safe without a replay...and despite the challenge they don't overturn it"People ask me what I do in winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. How surprising. The Braves won when Miller started. If only the rest of the staff learned to pitch. This team should be above .500 despite the preseason expectations. The question marks were the lineup which has been good so far. The pitching has been terrible outside of Miller and Grilli.“No one is more hated than he who speaks the truth.”

Phillies have optioned Cody Asche to Triple-A to convert him to left field. Looks like Maikel Franco is coming this week. Kind of a Kris Bryant situation where the Phillies are keeping him in Triple-A until the 15th to get that extra year of team control. Kid is raking in Triple-A so far this year. Phillies need some punch in this lineup.Comment

Would have been nice to catch some of that BABIP luck vs the Cards. Cubs saved by a few hard-hit balls right at the defense in the 9th. Castro made a fantastic play on one, though.
Bullpen finally did some good work tonight.

Some great defensive plays in the Marlins/Dodgers game.
Stanton with a great catch and doubled up the runner at 1B, saving a run.
Gordon with a slick behind the back flip to 1B for an out on a slow roller.
Van Slyke just threw a bullet to gun Yelich at the plate on a sac fly.Comment

Miller dealt again. Maybe Teheran could pitch like Teheran and Wood will stop being so damn flaccid and we can do something worth a damn.Comment

Shelby is making that Heyward trade look good lately...he really looks like a young Roger Clemens and I like it."People ask me what I do in winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring." - Rogers HornsbyComment

I felt so bad for Steve Cishek...just brutal. Great and entertaining game though between LA/Mia."People ask me what I do in winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring." - Rogers HornsbyComment
