Experiments with failures are a No-No in Crunch Time

You hear that Bochy? That's your team's playoffs chances going down the drain each time you stick with Stone, Watkins, or any other crappy reliever in a close game.

oHmm..that's interesting. Because Bochy sends up Hansen to PH when as a PH this year for the Pads he's batting .069. He has Fick, Payton and Ojeda on the bench. But he brings up Hansen

You don't rely on pinch hitters all the time to generate your offense. It's the starters... the Padres can't just keep doing that... looking like a playoff bound team one day, then a last place team the next.

I'm not saying to rely on a PH for Offense. But if your going to use a PH put in a guy that isn't batting .069 as one. That is not a smart move. There were runners on with 2 out, so if your going to use a PH the best choice probably would have been Ojeda.

Also, I don't understand why Brochy has stopped using Aki out of the pen lately and has gone to Watkins, McLeary (at one point), and Stone. He's over working Linebrink he's on the verge of break down and tonight showed it.

Aki already pitched in the Cards series, I don't know what games he did pitch in, but he was unavailable yesterday. Bochy did not want to use Linebrink, the bullpen was tired yesterday. That explains why the crappy pitchers were being used...
