I honestly don't know but fans are pissed about Orsillo and were probably bringing signs like #saveorsillo or something to that effect. And he isn't leaving he was essentially fired because they want to "bring life" to the television broadcast. And the way to do that is field a good ****ing team. I think the fans would have been fine with saying hey we got Dave O'Brien who is a great commentator and probably an upgrade over Don.
Anywho, here's hoping Boston can hold on to beat the Yanks. The Jays made it pretty exciting tonight despite the loss.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Sounds a little like an announcer version of the whole ordeal Jays fans went through with Buck Martinez though that was far more out of the blue. Martinez was essentially fired as manager in a very impersonal way by JP Ricciardi and upper management in the form of Paul Godfrey did nothing to smooth things out. This led to Martinez severing all ties with the organization and working with the O's until Beeston brought him back to be the TV PBP guy in 2010.

Re: 8/31 - 9/13 Game Discussion Thread
Well another wrinkle is that Orsillo's contract is up at the end of the year and they haven't renewed it yet. And last year they waited a while to pick up the option or whatever for this year. There was also an issue where they wanted Orsillo to come in and work a week during the offseason. Orsillo also has been said to be against that.
I'm sure it sucks for long time Boston Red Sox fans. Alienating one of the voices of the team for so many years isn't the greatest way to usher in the Dombrowski era IMO.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Sounds a little like both sides have come to the end of their road and the fans are left in the crossfire.

Yea he has been here since 01-02 the same time as the current ownership. He replaced ESPN's Sean McDonough. And he has called 3 WS Champions. And he was a great PBP guy as well. I honestly want to send something to Russel_SCEA and tell to look and getting him to be the new PBP guy for the Show.Comment

Cubs playing like LOLCubs tonight. 3 errors on Starlin Castro and a thorough beatdown by the Reds. Justin Grimm gives up 2 homers before getting an out. Aroldis Chapman scoring from 1st on a double....why is Aroldis Chapman on base you might ask? LOLCubs.Chicago Cubs | Chicago Bulls | Green Bay Packers | Michigan WolverinesComment

It's official.
The Astros can go 0-30 in September and still come up short of the 90-losses that were assured them by Godgers in April.
Sorry, bro. Looks like it was "sustainable".Comment

For the sake of this thread, the only point was to combat the misrepresentations that were purported about them by a few people during the first few months of the season.
As an Astros fan, I'll take any playoff success they have this year because it's been "a year early" and I will rest easy if they fail because I know this is just the tip of the iceberg.Comment
