It could make sense to get Fowler, stick him in LF this year and see what happens with Pompey/re-signing Bautista down the line.

EDIT: Steamer has Devon Travis at .272/.323/.419, so maybe I'm a bit bullish on his OBP.

I don't buy Travis' season last year. Think he's a league avg bat. I'd still stick Tulo lead off.

Isn't Travis slated to come back at some point near the end of May or into June?

Something like that but he's proven to be very injury prone. I hope this isn't something that dogs his career because he has some potential. If Goins can continue to be at the very least average with the bat than Travis by virtue of being out so long may never reclaim that 2B starting job.

Sounds like Howie Kendrick to Arizona discussions are getting serious... Also might have a suitor for Aaron Hill.

And to top off that nickname...he's a closer too.

Saw this earler today. I still think they may make a trade before or during spring training.

I'm guessing here... Archer or Cobb to Chicago?

Cobb, Moore, or Odorizzi not Archer.

No way the Rays trade Archer.

Archer has such a team friendly deal, there is no way.

                            It's got to be Cobbie.

Not sure where to put this but keep it in the back of your mind. If the Jays season goes south this year you can definitely put the Giants as the #1 suitor for him. Either way, if Bautista opts for Free Agency next offseason that's the team that he'll be gravitating to. There's no real solid proof of that other than that the Giants are shedding a lot of payroll and Bautista would do well/most likely get a WS ring with them.

This all comes from Jeff Blair's weekly SN column.
