Well after what seems like years of talk it looks official that the Montreal Expos are heading to Washington D.C. Looks like they'll play in old RFK for 3 seasons while they get a new stadium built.

Yeah. MLB announced it and tomorrow there will be a press conference tomorrow for it from Washington and MLB. But now it remains to be seen what happens with the Rico Law suit and the former limited Partners going to ask for a block the move of the Expos. The DuCross Brothers: Sports Internet Talk Show

Thank goodness. I no longer have to watch the Braves play them in Olympic Stadium or that dump in Puerto Rico."The best thing about being a football player at Alabama...winning...winning." -Mark Barron

Re: It's Official, Expos to D.C
Wow. And I wouldn't say its a sad day for "baseball". Sad for Canadiens that like baseball, yes. Its VERY sad when NHL teams move from Canada to the United States, I hate that. But baseball is bigger than ever and one more team in the states means it will be just a tad bit bigger next year. The bottom line is that the Expos will get far more support in Washington than they would in Montreal. I'm glad to see the move.Comment

It wouldn't be a "sad day for Baseball" or at least canadian Baseball fans if they actually supported the team, The Expos would not be leaving if attendance didn't drop every year. Even when they had an owner the people in Montreal showed no real interest in the team. The real question is if the Expos do well in Washington are people in Montreal going to become Expos fans like people in Los Angeles became Rams fans after the team went to St.Louis and starting winning?.Comment
