Why is Russ Ortiz not starting until game 4? Wasn't he supposed to be Atlanta's ace? I kinda lost track of baseball after football started. Will someone please fill me in.

Ehhh.... I'm not real high on him. His win total is pretty good, but his WHIP is terrible. Jared Wright has actually pitched much better than him this year. You could even make a case for John Thompson pitching better than him. This is how Bobby Cox setup his rotation:
GM 1 - Jared Wright
GM 2 - Mike Hampton
GM 3 - John Thompson
GM 4 - Russ Ortiz -

Yeah - Bobby Cox just didn't see him as the number one starter going into the playoffs, so he didn't use him as the number one starter, simple as that.
He hasn't pitched in 10 or so days, but hopefully that won't effect him tomorrow against the 'Stros and the Rocket.Comment
