Well, Steinbrenner might be looking to stick it to the Red Sox somehow in the offseason... besides, wouldn't you like to see him in pinstripes? :P

though I think if the Sox let Pedro go.. they just might be a better team. I never really thought much of Pedro over the last few years. When he gets a high pitch count.. man.. he really starts tanking. At least let it be gradual.

Now let's see how the Sox respond when they get to the top of the 7th.

How hard is it to TAKE a pitch Millar? They are just making Lieber's life too easy.

Look no further than who is on the Tim McCarver show this month:

            Oct 3 - Joe Torre
            Oct 1- Arod
            Oct 17 - Sheffield
            Oct 24 - Yogi Berra
            Oct 31 - Evander Holyfield

I think one of the sponsers of the show is the YES Network as well.

Wow... 6 outs away from 2-0 series lead! I'm not taking anyhting for granted though... the Boston lineup can explode at any moment

Pedro's still one of the best pitchers in baseball and a huge part of the Sox success. How would they be better without him?

He was not too long ago, but I don't know if I would lump him up there right now. Sure, he does have the stuff but it seems like the last few years he's been a little bit mixed up in the head. The Yankees are my Daddies quote a season after he said he wanted to drill The Babe kind of makes me think that way.

I don't even know if I want him on the Mets.. but he would be a hell of an upgrade over Victor Zambrano...

Zambrano... no wonder I'm a bitter fan at this point :P

Who cares what he says. Its how he pitches. And as he showed tonight he still pitches pretty damn well.

This performance by Lieber has been a pleasant surprise! I thought he would have a good game, 3 runs in 6 innings, but he definently passed my expectations.

With Gordon's recent struggles and the way Lieber is pitching, I would love to see him go one more inning before handing the ball to Mo.
