Teixiera for Wells and a prospect.....

On another site I go to a poster reports Baseball weekly said Texas offered the Jays that trade offer and JP Ricarrdi countered with Teixiera and Mench for Wells, Hinske, and a prospect. Talks are still on going.

Depending on who the prospect is (as long as it's not any top 10 prospect) as a Jays fan I would pull the trigger on the counter offer.

I have nothing but hate for Hinske and I would be glad to see his *** get shipped just before his salary shoots up.

Teixeira emerged as one of the top switch-hitting power hitters in baseball this past season, and Mench has always been a decent outfielder..

Wells went through a bit of a funk last season, but has so much potential it's not even funny.. I know Hinske is getting payed a lot, and isn't liked by many Jays' fans, but I believe he has talent that could help out the Rangers..

I don't know, it's a pretty even trade, but I wouldn't want to get rid of Teixeira if I was Texas - he's too good of a hitter right now.

The reason Teixiera might be shopped around is because they have Adrian Gonzalex ready to play 1B.

I'm guessing Hinske would be moved to DH. Remember the Texas ballpark is a hitters ballpark so Hinske's numbers might improve.

Wells is a gold glove caliber CF who is from Texas. He's one year removed from a monster season and he's locked up for 3 more years at a cheap price (averages about 5 mil a year).

I like the deal from the Jays standpoint because Teixiera could move back to 3B where he played in College. He could hold down the fort until Aaron Hill is ready. Teixiera and Mench provide much needed pop for the Jays. The thing I worry about is that Teixiera is only one year away from arbitration and he will get a huge raise if he can produce like he did this season. But in the meantime the Jays would save enough cash that they might actually have a chance to bring back Delgado.

I'm guessing the Rangers would ask for a top pitching prospect. I'm not sure I would want to give up Banks McGowan, League, or Rosario.

I'd hate to see this, but Texas has sworn off the monster contract, and Texieira's agent is the Satan of professional sports. They may see him as unsignable.

I'd go for the trade as well tho i'd hate to see the loss of solid defense in Wells. The only thing from a fan standpoint that I don't like is that this could send a bad message to the casual fans who probably won't know who Texiera and Mench are.

Switch hitting power hitters like tex don't come often.I despise hinske as well so trading him is only good for the team and improves defense right away.Wells,it's really hard to part with him,but our outfield depth is amazing.Rios,Gross alot more guys will be coming up soon so i would do this deal.especially if we get big head mench.
