I'm going to bank on a laugher. Tillman's history against Toronto is a comedy. He couldn't even make it past the 3rd inning in any of his starts north of the border last year. He may look great this year, but he still had a rough last time out against them. 4 runs in 5 innings. Of course, Stroman looked terrible for us so they got the win, but Tillman is a pitcher Toronto is known for getting the better of.

Oh for sure. There are just some teams certain pitchers can't buy a good performance against and the Jays seem to be that team for Tillman.

In the 8th inning last night, the Phillies batted around and scored four runs ... without getting a single hit.

I wonder how much of the CLE trade for Miller was due to the Tigers' recent run. Up big on Houston, would extend win streak to 6.

Here we go again. Tulowitzki with a possibly broken thumb because of Tillman's lack of control.

I may have said this before, I don't remember, but this Bowman kid for STL is a replica of Tim Lincecum with his drive mechanics and arm action.

Bud Norris exits in the 1st inning with what appears to be a back injury.

Gunning hard for the DL record, it seems.

Welp, this looks like a loss now

Hopefully Tulo is ok and can play tomorrow.

Lack of control? It's baseball. HBP is a part of it. Tulo has always been brittle. What, did you think everyone would stay healthy for the rest of the year?

Damnit, looks like a possible chipped bone in Tulo's thumb

EDIT: According to Jays beat reporter Shi Davidi it's a chip fracture. The Jays will see how Tulo feels over the next couple days.

If the recent precedent of former O's pitchers playing for the Cubs is any indication, I can't wait.

Baseball has all kinds of odd records, but this one is almost strange enough that you might think it's never been done before (has it? probably)...like a 3-3-5 triple play.

It's to the point where I half expect they are purposefully getting guys that are injury prone. Not that Norris is a high injury risk himself; he's been fairly durable throughout his career, but adding regular wear and tear into the mix with guys who are injury prone gets you an all-DL team like they have right now.

LA may want to reconsider their risk/reward model on injuries and/or their training staff personnel. As a Chicago Bulls fan, this Dodgers team reminds me of that--a team that has more than their fair share of incapacitated bodies.

LA is 8 games over .500 and in pole position for a Wild Card berth so they are in ok shape, but it is sort of ridiculous how they stockpile guys likely to get hurt. And this isn't a new "narrative" after the fact; you probably remember the buzz/criticism being the same in the preseason.

Boy, did the Sox need that win. Felt like they hadn't won a game in a month.
