NESN announcers booth is at its best when Dennis Eckersley is doing color, passable with Jerry Remy, and intolerable when Steve Lyons sits in.

Yeah. By far the worst pairing NESN had to offer.

Yes, I was half way paying attention, recognized O'brien from espn, Lyons is annoying as hell to listen too. Jesus.

Ichiro may actually be a better hitter than Rose was. Congrats to Ichiro on 3,000.
Ichiro was every bit as good in the States as he was in Japan, so yes, he would have broken Rose' record.

While I am not in any way diminishing Ichiro's amazing accomplishment, would have does not make one the Hit King.

Maybe it's got something to do with the fact that he's over 30, had a cracked shoulder blade last year, a quad injury this year, and just got HBP and injured his thumb this year?

But you think it's all because he's out of Coors?

His career BA is 40 points lower H v. A, sure, but everything else is fairly similar. And, to my non-metrically trained eyes, nothing looks too wildly different to suggest what you say about Tulo the Jay is even remotely correct. There are so many other factors to consider.

To think Ichiro wouldn't have gotten 1200 hits in 7-8 more seasons in the majors is just pure gullibility.

Yeah, he may or may not have. We'll never really know and it doesn't really matter.
