This is one of the best questions I've ever seen asked, player comparison-wise. I really wouldn't know how to answer this. These two are quickly becoming the best position players in the league not named Bonds. They both give their all, put up #'s, play great D, have cannons for arms, and are pretty damn feared.

Right now, I think I'd still take Vladimir, but ask me in an hour and it could be Beltran.

I agree 100%. Very good question and one I'm not sure has a definitive answer.

I never got to see Beltran play until these playoffs and man.... I'm impressed. He's the essence of a 5 tool player. However, so is Vlad. Measuring the 5 tools, I'd come up with this:

Hit for Average: Tie (maybe give Vlad a very small advantage)
Hit for Power: Vlad
Speed: Beltran
Arm: Vlad
Defense: Beltran

I think it's safe to say that both of these guys are incredible players. Guys like this don't come around very often.

I watched Vladdy daddy for a while here in MTL but it's a very tough call.Beltran has superior range buti think Vlad does everything else so much better with his ability to hold even the fastes of runners.

Then there's the power and average..You don't know how many times i've seen him hit a homerun that if anyone else were to swing at that pitch, it'd be a ground ball.H has great reach which allows him to chase balls away from the zone.
