The talk right now is that the two that the Cubs really like are:

Matt Verstigien to take the play by play role (he was the Brewers and Padres pbp guy./..also did Battlebots and also the XFL)

the analyst role they say could be either Joe Girardi (if he doesn't take the Marlins bench coach job and also still lives in the Northern Chicago Suburbs) or Ryne Sandberg (if he wants to do it. He's been doing some radio work for AM1000 in Chicago)

I could see Stoney getting into a front office position with a team in the very near future. I have also heard ESPN might be looking at him to do some West Coast games so he doesn't have to be too far away from his Arizona home

It's better than Chip "Gullywasher" Carey.

I didn't want to get into it, but Hawk and Udai Jackson are a joke. Hawk thinks everyone is dumb but himself. He tells you some of the saddest bs you could ever imangine hearing like the time when he said Jose Valentine is the best player he has ever seen at going back aand catching pop ups. WHAT! That bum has 40 errors a year. Udai can't even talk unless he is given permission which is sad. And when they are losing Hawk is so damn unprofessional often sitting there for minutes at a time without saying a damn word which is un fricking real. How Jerry Reinsdorf can look in the mirror knowing he employs that blowhole is beyond me.

I was hot and cold on Chip but at least he is a professional, he called the score and laid into the unprofessional cubs players and said there were not there to be cheerleaders, they had a job to do and they did it fairly and impartially. For that I commend him and will miss that. Now we will get some yes man *** kissers which will be sad. I guess I will have to listen to pat on WGN and tune ron's weirdness out.
