    Instant Replay?

Not likely, but it is on the agenda. I'm personally not in favor of it, but support for the idea seems to be growing.

This will only makes games longer... which would just ruin everything that people did to make the games shorter.

don't need it. There are not many calls controversial enough, but it would be cool if the umpires could hold digital video cams that show the ball, so that way they could determine whether or not the ball was fair or foul or if the player made it to first in time.
Just wait till Arsenal moves into Emirates Stadium.

I dont see a reason for instant replay in baseball. I cant even think of a natural place for them to go to review things. In the NBA its the scorers table, the NFL is on the sideline and hockey they call up to the scorers booth. Where would this occur in baseball? In a clubhouse? I dont think there are enough controversial calls really.

Maybe they'll show it on the diamond vision.

I think the only time they should you it for calling ball fair or foul ball on home run calls.

good points. I don't there their should be instant replay either. My first thought about it was the same as yours. How would they implement it? How would they define controversial in baseball and determine what was reviewable. Anyone who knows the game knows balls and strikes are just as important as if guy was safe at first. It'll just open a can of worms that's not necessary.

Secondly, i just don't see a need for it. As long as the umps come together like they did in the playoffs. I'm confident that they'll make the right call. I also feel the umps didn't get enough credit for huddling up and making the correct calls during the NY/Boston series.

No kidding whos to say what is controversial or not. I mean baseball is a game of inches so there is always going to be calls that could go either way. Also, look at how much heat Questec got from the Umps etc... I dont think and hope this will not pass. If it does I really hope that balls/strikes are not reviewable. My guess it is just for close plays at a base/plate, diving catches and fair or foul balls. Also who would decide if there needs to be a review or not the umps or the coaches? And what happens if a ball (not a home run) is decided to be fair after being called foul? How would they decide which base to reward a guy? I just dont think there is a need for it.
