The Nats have to be the most fraudulent playoff bound team. (if season ended today) I mean that bullpen is going to be their undoing yet AGAIN. I literally laughed when I saw Flowers' ball go out of the ballpark.

I had no idea who Mitch Haniger was going into today's game at Target Field but he is an impressive player.

Aaron Judge is ridiculous. Can't remember the last time I saw this kind of raw power from such a young player and he might be my new favorite player to watch in baseball, bar none.

Just a couple years ago when Stanton came up, and I love Judge, but everytime I see him do something crazy I'm reminded how long we've been watching Stanton and I appreciate him even more. I'm glad the monster is on my side this time.

Judge feels too good to be true. I worry every game that he's going to suddenly forget how to hit.

I couldn't agree more, felt the same way with Gary last year. It's like, this can't be happening. But it is. And even so, it can't happen forever. Or can it?

Well, I do believe we will see Judge hit a wall/slow down. Every hitter has a weak spot/holes...they just haven't found his yet, but when they do they'll hammer it until he adjusts. Of course, maybe he'll keep his pace up and blast 65 home runs...

The adjustments he's made from last year to this year in his approach are really impressive.

If I'm pitching, I'm trying to attack him up and in with velocity, similar to how pitchers attack Kris Bryant. The problem with that is if you miss, it's going a long way. But he's staying on off-speed pitches so well, you have to get him to speed up somehow so you can be effective with offspeed away from his barrel.

I don't live far from the Yankees AA team. Pretty cool that I got to see Judge there quite a bit when he was there.

We've seen that approach from some teams this year particularly after the Blue Jays had some success against him in Toronto. John Smoltz made a great point when talking about Judge by comparing him to Dave Winfield. As a pitcher you go in thinking "Okay, I can give him a diet of pitches away." but that's EXACTLY what a guy like Judge or Winfield would want because they lunge into the pitch and can get their long arms out there to crush the ball.

As much as I hate the Yankees I like Judge equally as I hate the team. You know who he reminds me of in terms of demeanor and how he handles the media? Derek Jeter.

This guy could very well be the next Jeter and ALSO back up the insane hype as there were points in Jeter's career where the hype was a little more than what he brought on the field. (other than the leadership qualities which were definitely Jeter's strength) I'm constantly amazed that a guy of his size moves around so gracefully on the baseball field. Guys of his body type usually look a little gawky at times but he moves around like any other ballplayer and once he fills out just a little more he's going to be an even bigger monster than he is now.

                        Cardinals have released Jhonny Peralta

                        No real surprise here

No real surprise that no one else claimed him either (he was DFA'd a while ago, I believe).

                              Reminds me of Trout.

I know Trout isn't 6'8, 280 lbs, but he's still very graceful for a big dude.

With hit velocity such a rave now, how likely is it that teams start looking for big guys that can move?

Not to say they never did, but with advances in training, it's "easier" now to be a Bo Jackson type that should play football based on size but instead dominates baseball. Where Bo was once unique, today he would be one of a few.

Definitely as a player he's very much in the mold of Trout. I was more talking about what he brings to the table with his intangibles and how he carries himself.
