We don't need a lefty reliever, and from what I've seen, San Diego had a vmhigh asking price for Hand. Altavilla, despite his upside, has struggled a lot in the majors this year and Peterson has fallen off and is currently blocked by Valencia and Vogelbach. They both don't have the greatest value at the moment. I could see SD asking for Vogelbach/Moore or Vogelbach/Neidert which is too much. Basically, it's not a good fit

Nah SD is asking for Lewis or O'Neil to start a package.

It's the trade deadline and very much a sellers market on quality relievers, they can aim seriously high. Doesn't mean they'll get seriously high, but they only need one GM to buckle and they've got plenty interested

This doesn't make much sense to me. They already have a bunch of guys of that caliber.

J.D. Martinez to Arizona the Tigers are getting prospects Dawel Lugo, Sergio Alcantara & Jose King per Rosenthal, Morosi, someone else and Tigers Public Relations.

Good for Detroit, finally starting to accept the state of its team. That old, washed-up team is going nowhere fast and they need more talent in their minor league system in the worst way. If they're smart this will just be the beginning.

As for Arizona, it's a good move. I'm still not sold on their pitching staff. They were the 30th best staff last season and have allowed the 2nd fewest runs so far this season. I do not expect that to last. The Snakes will need another couple of pitchers to make a strong move toward the playoffs.

I'm curious how much Oakland gets for Sonny Gray...guy's performance has been great recently which definitely boosts the package Oakland gets back.

I wonder if Milwaukee will bite.

But we ought to be listening to any proposal for any player on our roster not named "Fulmer".

Yeah, the whole win one for the gipper thing with Mike Ilitch was painful to watch year after year. And I consider the Tigers my AL team after living in Ann Arbor for 5 years and going to Comerica a bunch of times during the Brandon Inge/Todd Jones era, so I'm hoping this front office can actually rebuild it.
