It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.

Just bad baseball from Arizona. Veteran LHP Jorge de la Rosa nibbling and walks Zobrist in a 15-3 game? Just throw him a cookie.

Huge play on an awesome throw by Jarrod Dyson to get the runner advancing to third on a hit. Wow.

As the Dodgers move to 9-1 in their last 10 the Braves fall to 1-9 in theirs. This team should've sold some pieces off for whatever they could have gotten. It was obvious they weren't going to compete for the wild card. Someone had to have offered something for Adams.

And don't look now, but the Cubs are toiling away in the Dodgers' shadow at 14-3 since the ASB. I think LA is the team to beat this year, but it should make for good theater with both NL clubs coming down the stretch into a possible rematch of last year's NLCS.

My dislike for Tom McCarthy as the Phillies PBP grows. Too many mistakes. Tonight stated Phillies are 1/12 with RISP,then corrected himself and said 2/12. They've had 1 run pretty much throughout the game. Kruk sucks too. "We" this and "we" that. Bar room analysis.

Cubs have to get past the Nats and manage to not strike out 10000 times against Scherzer/Strasburg/etc.

It's nice to see the Jays still competing out there. They would've had a sweep over the White Sox if Osuna hadn't blown the save on Monday night. It's doubly encouraging to see both Happ and Estrada looking more like the pitchers they were last season as well.

Maybe this will auger well for 2018.

If they even pitch in the playoffs. Strasburg is out for an indefinite period with a nerve impingement and Scherzer has a freshly injured neck that forced him out of his latest start. I'm not saying either one is done for the season, but Strasburg's injury history, particularly, is pretty well documented with respect to the playoffs. Somehow he's only had 1 career playoff start which seems impossible given how long he's been around and how playoff-caliber the Nats usually are.

If the Cubs play like they have been, the Nats don't really scare me as an NLDS matchup. Well, actually, Daniel Murphy scares the crap out of me, but not much else over there does. I was more worried about SF last year than I would be about WAS if we both go in as division champs.

That said, your point about the Cubs propensity to strike out far too often is well made. The club seems to have a bit too much of a '3 true outcomes' thing going on at times.

Tyler Flowers with a pinch hit homer in the bottom of the 8th to put the Braves up 5-3.

Let's see if there's any voodoo bull**** tonight.

                          EDIT: Not tonight!

Goldschmidt too much for the Cubbies. Quintana having his worst Cub start so far.

Mike Matheny either has a peanut brain or Michael Wacha has some undisclosed injury. I was watching some of the STL/MIL game and in the 5th inning he uses a pinch hitter for Wacha and then Brett Cecil promptly craps the bead in the bottom of the inning to give the Brewers the go ahead run. (for now) If the score holds up then I thank Matheny very much LOL
