Just looked MLB trade rumors top 50 FA predictions, they have the Brewers signing Arrieta to 4 yr, $100 mil deal.

Not sure how I feel about that.

All I've heard is Texas has the edge to sign him.

I just looked at the MLBTR list as well.

Sheesh, the Bruce to Toronto idea just won't die until it happens eh? I like the Tony Watson suggestion as a lefty specialist out of the bullpen. The Jays however don't need Eduardo Nunez. Yes, he's a super utility guy but he's injury prone. That's one thing this front office is going to be highly allergic to.

We'll eat the whole contract, but we're going to need some prospects/cost controlled MLB'ers in return. He can hold down the fort in left.

Upton's deal basically adds 1 more year and 17.5 M more cake. However, unlike the Tiger's deal where the money was evenly spread, the Angel's is back loaded.

Mlbtraderumors has the Tigers picking up Tillman on a 1 year deal (10M). It would make a lot of sense as a flip candidate and to eat some innings.

They hired an inexperience manager in Alex Cora, so it is good move

              2. We'll be in on Otani, obviously.

              3. Sign relievers Roberts can trust, since he relied on the same 2-3 guys over and over again and that cost us big.

              4. Joc might have bought himself another year with his World Series performance. Anyways, it'll be interesting to see what Friedman does with him.

              5. Could be in the market for 2B again, since Forsythe was sort of a disappointment.
Depending on the OF situation. They could just move Chris Taylor to 2B. Then possibly trade, release, or use Forsythe in a utility IF role.

There are a few scenarios depending on how they decide to keep the OF. Still have Toles coming back, Verdugo coming up, Trayce Thompson still hanging around. Could keep Pederson still. Could sign a guy like Lorenzo Cain. Different options on the table.

Personally I'd like them to try and make a run at Eric Hosmer if KC can't re-sign him (Depending on Gonzo's health) and move Bellinger to the OF (he's our best defender in the OF and at 1B currently)

In news that no one say coming, the Astros have exercised club options on both Jose Altuve and Marwin Gonzalez.

Matt Wieters plans to exercise his player option and remain with the Nationals.

                Marlins decline Ichiro's option.

Wonder if Seattle calls Ichiro for one last hurrah before calling it quits.

As we all know i'm a big fan of sentimental sports stories so I would LOVE to see the M's bring Ichiro back.

If he did not have that little tear in the elbow he would have opted out. Did not make sense for him to chance the possibility of coming up short.

Tanaka was such a ****ing mess in the regular season but man did he really turn it on in the playoffs. If he can somehow get back to being consistently awesome, it's a no-brainer.

                              Hope they get Otani too.

I wouldn't even entertain that and hopefully neither do the Dodgers. Jay Bruce at roughly $22m which is the same as Yu Darvish? I'm curious what formula they use to come up with these figures as some seem beyond ridiculous to me.
Ok. I was just using that resource as source of conversation. The question, regardless of agreeing or disagreeing with the source, is still whether the Rockies cut ties with a clubhouse strong, production declining, expensive Carlos Gonzales and attempt to land Eric Hosmer. The Rockies will not add a big salary to what they already have.
