Glad they're trying to be competitive this year. Leave some payroll open if were in the thick of things.
We at least have 2 years worth of starting pitchers. Hopefully our young guys can make it to the show in next 2 years.Comment

No kidding. Was reading the ESPN article about Cobb and his 4 year $60MM deal, noticed this:

I mean, $15MM/yr is not exactly cheap, but not exactly that high either for a market such as Baltimore. But they've never given more than $60MM to any free agent before? No wonder they're always bad. Content to pass on #1 and #2 starters year after year.
Davis - 7/161
Jones - 6/84 (extension)
Tejada - 6/72
Markakis - 6/66 (extension)
But yeah, only one $100+ million contract overall. I’d attribute part of it to them being laughably terrible during the time when money started escalating, but now with Machado it’s jusf incompetence and negligence.Comment

Jose Bautista apparently has 2 teams interested in him.
Its the Rays and Braves apparently.Last edited by countryboy; 03-26-2018, 10:58 AM.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

And just like that, both the Braves and the Rays have said they are not signing Bautista.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
