I can't take credit for this, as I saw someone post it elsewhere (but I forget where). The Mariners have now traded for 3 Oakland A's 1st baseman in the past year. Danny Valencia, Yonder Alonso and now Ryon Healy.

I know Valencia wasn't a full time 1b with the A's but he went on to play 118 games at 1st with the Mariners.

Jon Morosi reports one rival exec of Miami stats that in order to receive a top prospect in return for Stanton, Miami will need to include 5 milliin per season

Also goes on to say, "Giancarlo Stanton trade development: Sources say multiple teams told #Marlins that Stanton’s contract (10 years, $295 million) is roughly what he’d receive on open market. Thus, #Marlins would need to include cash in order to obtain high-level prospects."

He also says Tampa has interest in Bautista. Talked tp him last offseason before he went back to Toronto.

The Mariners announced on Thursday that they’ve traded right-hander Thyago Vieira to the White Sox in exchange for international bonus money

Obviously a Otani move, but wonder if they dont get him and the Braves lose Maitan if theyll go after him. Hed still have to be signed as an international FA again

I've heard that as well. Bautista's agent Jay Alou has made it known to all teams that Bautista is willing to play any position next year, not just in RF.

Around December 14th as that's when a working agreement between MLB and NPB should be done.

John Hart out in Atlanta...not surprising. As I've said all along, if he didn't know he SHOULD have known. I really like Hart, always have going back to the 1980's. Sad to see it come to this...

Sad end to a great career IMO.

Hopefully he'll turn back up on MLB-N I prefer his insight over Dan O'Dowd.

                            Per Rosenthal:

The Giants and Cardinals have submitted offers to the Marlins for Stanton. The Giants are willing to take up a sizable portion of Stanton's contract according to a source. This would mean the Giants would have to trade one of their higher priced veterans to Miami or elsewhere. Rosenthal offers up Johnny Cueto and Jeff Samardzija.

A Cardinals deal would be more prospect heavy (and while Rosenthal didn't report this in his article there has been a report that Stanton would nix such a deal) while no one really knows how serious Boston is with their interest but Dombrowski has a history of leveraging the farm for current success.

Other teams are also finalizing their pitches to the Marlins though these teams remain mysteries to everyone at this moment.

(In case anyone suspects i'm leaking info from a paywall, Rosenthal posted the link on his FB page and made it free for all to read)

I was trying to make a joke based on the wording but it's quite possible I screwed up. You are right though the Rockies aren't going to go after Hosmer.
