Looks like there are some stipulations to that 30mil. One involving his opt out.“The saddest part of life is when someone who gave you your best memories becomes a memory”Comment

Wow. Thats a horrendous trade for Miami. Bet MLB looks into this for possible collusion. Not saying there was/is but when you trade the reigning MVP who hit 59 HRs to the only team Jeters known, for virtually nothing, eyebrows will be raisedOakland A's - Seattle Mariners - Detroit TigersPittsburgh Steelers - Green Bay PackersDetroit Red WingsComment

It appears the Yanks took full advantage of the Marlins being in desperation mode. Basically Stanton forced his landing spot not Jeter.“The saddest part of life is when someone who gave you your best memories becomes a memory”Comment

I agree with you but i think theyll look into it. I mean after the Braves debacle, Manfred has already said he'll be looking into whatever team signs Ohtani to make sure it was done by the booksOakland A's - Seattle Mariners - Detroit TigersPittsburgh Steelers - Green Bay PackersDetroit Red WingsComment

Like you said it really forced his hand. And Cashman pounced on the opportunity.

Re: 2017-2018 MLB Hot Stove Thread
It looks like the Yanks manipulated the situation perfectly to their advantage and reading the views from you guys on the financial side this actually doesn't hurt the Yanks as bad as I thought especially since they'll still be under the luxury cap.
I think it's fair to say the Evil Empire is back and badder than ever. I can't imagine having to see Judge AND Stanton 18 times a year "sigh" The way it looks, they still have the financial flexibility to get at least one of the super free agents next offseason too. This is just insanity! I just have to hope Boonie is as bad a manager as I hope and he screws this up royally.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club
