on Cubs signing Morrow. I love the move because a 2 year deal migrates the health risk and of the relievers on the market he still has the most upside with his swing and miss stuff. Cubs probably gonna sign another reliever.

I love Wade Davis but he's probably getting 4 years and at 32 with an increasing walk rate that would scare me.

Yeah, if that could not happen, that would be great.

Well there goes Jeter's sterling reputation. It sounds like Stanton unloaded all over the Marlins and Jeter. I'm sure when I get a chance to watch some MLB-N they'll talk about this for a while.
Stanton did clarify on his interview on MLBN after the press conference that his complaints are pretty much all about Loria’s regime. He hasn’t known the new owners long enough to really complain about them. He just wanted to leave and not be part of another rebuild; he wanted a shot at actually playing in the playoffs and possibly winning a World Series before he retires.

His agent mentioned that Stanton was worried that something can happen at any moment to end your career (like when he was hit in the face), but it felt like maybe he was reflecting on Fernandez’s death as well.

More Joel Wolfe In Giancarlo: “He felt like he has no more time to waste in his career because life is fleeting. You can get hit in the face at any time and your career could end. That happened to him.”

Thanks, that seems a lot more reasonable and I can completely understand his mindset about wanting to maximize the prime years of his career.

One thing I thought was interesting is he said he gave the Marlins his teams before they went to STL and SF, so for those who thought the Marlins should've gone to him first, it looks like they did and then just ignored it lol.

The team was built with him as the ace. Without him, the pitching was never the same. It sucks, because now most of the Marlins' best players are entering arbitration and getting expensive. Yelich signed a pre-arb extension, so he is the most valuable trade chip.

The Marlins were sold for 1.2 B, but 400 M of that was assumed debt. My guess is the new ownership is trying to pay down the debt and build something sustainable. How it became a media circus reflects poorly on the new Marlins ownership.

Yankees interested in Cole, Blue Jays in Harrison and Cutch being dangled. I have no faith in the Pirate's front office at all.

I'd like to see either Cutch or Harrison on the Jays roster but it all depends on what the Pirates ask for.
