    Yanks/Mets Trade

To take some of the focus "completely" off Bonds and steroids, Mike Stanton makes his return back to the Yankees.

    Yankees get: Mike Stanton
    Mets get: Felix Heredia

    Also...

    Yankees get: Felix Rodriguez
    Phillies get: Kenny Lofton

I, for one, and glad to see Stanton back as I wasn't really a big fan of Heredia. Also, glad to see the Yankees get another good reliever. Rodriguez had a 3.29 ERA and 59 K's in 65.2 IP.

Are these actually completed yet, or just rumored to be done soon?

edit: N/M, I just saw them on MLB.com...

Finally, we get rid of Heredia. It will be nice to have Stanton back and hopefully Rodriquez will turn into a good set up man.

Question: Does this mean that Marlon Byrd is on the trading block in Philly??

Stanton was AWFUL last year. I don't know how much he has left for his return to pinstripes

I don't expect much from Stanton, but he should be better than Heredia.

I like the Lofton deal though.

Yankees should be fine as long as Stanton isn't their main lefty.

Lofton had to go, so getting Rodriguez is pretty good. This could actually get the Randy Johnson trade done. Now that the Yankees have another setup man, they could let Gordon go to AZ.
