That's a shock. He always seemed like a good guy when he was with the Pirates - participating in charity events and making himself available to fans/media. Not to mention his wife is pretty hot (from what I remember).

Goes to show you just never know what these athletes do behind closed doors....

I don't know much about Neagle, but I fail to see how getting head from a prostitute makes a statement either way about his character.

Maybe I just don't put baseball players on a moral pedistal, but I would expect them to act like normal people in society, and the last time I checked prostitution was one of the oldest professions in the world.

Prostitution is also illegal and immoral. Neagle is also married so he commited adultery. That's enough right there to know that no matter who you are, you don't do that. I think that says a lot about his character. I'm not sure how it doesn't.

It's conceivable to me that Neagle can be a charitable friendly guy with a gorgeous wife and still solicit a hooker for specific needs. Although we may wish it so the world is not a black and white place with a clear line between good and bad people. Neagle could very well be a good person who made a bad choice. What's more, this news affects me how?? How is it anyone's business but Neagle and his wife..

I guess I take offense to people using news such as this to pass judgement and take a moral highroad... I personally find that as offensive if not more offensive than what went on in Denny's SUV.

Understandable. This is between Neagle and his wife and I don't think it should be publicized in the first place. However, that's not the World we live in. The media runs with whatever juicy story they can find.

You made a good point. Maybe he did just make a bad choice. I didn't mean for my post to sound like I think the guy is the lowest form of life on the Earth. I certainly don't believe that. I just found his action to be inappropriate for a family man with 3 children and a wife.
