    Union open to stricter steroid testing

    Sure, now they want to do it. It sounds like the players are basically forcing Fehr/Orza into negotiating this point.

    And tell me the unions aren't killing sports. It takes congress threatening to get anything done. Can't blame this on the owners and you can't blame it on the media. The players union is to blame for this problem.

      And tell me the unions aren't killing sports. It takes congress threatening to get anything done. Can't blame this on the owners and you can't blame it on the media. The players union is to blame for this problem.

        Completely agree. Unfortunately too many people blame Bud Selig on this issue. The only chance he and the owners had of getting stricter testing was a work stoppage.

          Completely agree. Unfortunately too many people blame Bud Selig on this issue. The only chance he and the owners had of getting stricter testing was a work stoppage.

                Baseball tried to clean itself up after the Mark McGwire andro episode and the union blocked all testing. Just like the NBA union seems to condone running into the stands to fight fans, the baseball union seems to think having a clean sport is secondary to receiving union dues.

                  Baseball tried to clean itself up after the Mark McGwire andro episode and the union blocked all testing. Just like the NBA union seems to condone running into the stands to fight fans, the baseball union seems to think having a clean sport is secondary to receiving union dues.
