Schwarber 0 for last 14 just swinging through 95mph three straight pitches.

Hasn't gotten a hit since Miami and is now slashing .172/.294/.448 (.742 OPS) on the season

I wonder how much longer before the annual "what's wrong with Schwarber?/send him to AAA" happens. For a guy whose bat was supposed to play so well, he sure seems to need an awful lot of maintenance/trips to MiLB/re-making of his body. Dude is an adventure to have on the team for sure. Would prefer some consistency out of him though.

Dansby has really impressed me so far.

BUT...I wonder how much of it is luck. 1 BB in 31 PAs tell me he isn't exactly being judicious and getting the best pitch.

No doubt. Dude can be a beast but that at bat with 1 out, runner on third was abysmal. Does he know what a productive out is?

This is a huge problem on the team as a whole. Little acknowledgement of situational hitting. Man on 3rd with 1 out in a tight game? Swing for the fences! Bases loaded, nobody out? Swing for the fences! It gets even worse when guys like Happ, Schwarber, Baez inevitably get into their patented deep, deep slumps and try to break out with a grand slam in each AB.

At some point, whether Chili Davis is viewed as a successful hitting coach here will depend on his ability to get them to learn to match their approach to the game situation (without making them passive overall).

Cubs win 3 of 4 in MKE. Rotation has looked great the 2nd time through after a really rough 1st turn. Bullpen is on fire. Offense and defense...work in progress. Some guys like Heyward, Happ, Schwarber, Baez are gonna need to consistently hit their weight at least. Wherefore art thou, Rizzo?

Brewers might be in trouble. Yelich and Knebel to the DL. Sputtering offense. We already knew their rotation was basically Davies + Anderson and 3 scrubs. I'm seeing how the projections saw the Brewers as a below .500 (79-83 at FG) type of team.

Going to miss playing teams from Florida. Also hope Xander Bogaerts ankle injury is nothing serious. He was off to such a hot start too.
