    Glaus to the DBacks

The AZ Republic is reporting that Troy Glaus has signed a 4 year $45 million dollar contract.

All I can say is this. Troy, have fun in last place.

Well at least the weather will be nice?

I dunno what sense it makes going to Arizona. I guess he just went for the best offer available.

Nice? God, no. Unless he loves the heat.

Sure, it's nice when the roof is closed on the B.O.B. and the A/C is on, but otherwise the summers are horrible.

Strange move on Glaus' part. I guess since he already has a World Series ring he went for the money instead of winning. I think he will regret signing with Arizona because they won't be winning too much.

45 mil/ 4 years for a player that has been injured the past 2 seasons ....... and this is coming from the D-Backs who are paying millions in deferrred payments to players no longer on the roster.............

After 2 seasons it looks like the market is once again going back to how it was before. The owners must be making a ton of dough now to be giving out these contracts.

The owners aren't making tons of dough, and that is going to be an issue in a few years. All these contracts that are being signed are incredibly backloaded, the owners are going to have major issues paying for these contracts in 2-3 years.

Interesting, they just got another Richie Sexson except more injury prone. I don't really fear the D-Backs now that they've basically gutted their team.

I don't think you'll have reason to fear them, for a few years at least. It will be a 3 team race in the West again.
