No wonder it's been so quiet for the Jays at the winter meetings. I'm glad that we finally have a dependable 3B now. I think Hinske might improve since he won't have to worry too much about his play on the field if he stays with the team as i've also heard that rumour. If JP can pull that off then i'll seriously question the intelligence of Kenny Williams. Then again the last time we traded with the ChiSox we got damaged goods.

Over on the Jays board there is speculation that Batista and Hinske would go to the sox for Carlos Lee and Joe Crede and that crede would be moved to a third team for a starting pitcher. The source is the ESPN radio in Chicago.

If a trade like that goes down there has to be a top pitching prospect going the other way because that trade doesn't make any sense for the White Sox.

But I'll be real happy if the trade went through.

Next to Ligtenberg, the two guys I want to see gone from the Jays are Batista and Hinske.

I'd like to give Hinske another shot things may be different for him at 1st and that might rub off into his offensive game. But it looks like that trade is probably nonexistent now that Carlos Lee is on Milwaukee now.

Lee got dealt to Milwaukee for Scott Podsednik and somebody else.

One player the Dodgers still haven't acquired, despite what you may have heard, is Oakland ace Tim Hudson. Despite reports that a deal was imminent to send Hudson to L.A. for Edwin Jackson and infield prospect Antonio Perez, the A's were back out talking to other clubs (Cardinals, Orioles, Yankees, Blue Jays) Sunday. So hang on. This one might still take a while.
