Re: 6/18 - 7/1 Game Discussion Thread
I knew the Astros would lose tonight. They've won 12 in a row 4 times in franchise history but never 13.
Even at home (not an advantage for this team) I knew they'd give no run support to Verlander (of course Snell is no slouch). It played out exactly as I thought. Aww well. [emoji846]Comment

A couple of laser throws by Schwarber and Heyward keep it a 1-0 lead for the Cubs.
Willie took a shoulder to the face on that tag and had a bloody nose. Hopefully he's fine.Comment

Jays seem to be on these FB games alot. I wonder if MLB is doing it because they don't make money off Jays games in Canada, so putting it on Facebook is better than having Jays on ESPN or FOX or anything like that. Sucks though that they have local blackout because of the Facebook game.
One thing I've been hoping out of sports for quite some time is to make settings like a video game. Allow people to mute whichever commentator they want, and choose to adjust volume on fans and other sounds too. Even let them swap in the tv broadcasters for the radio one if they want.
Also, fans should be allowed to access their own cameras during games too. So if you still want to listen to the broadcast, but watch it from a camera at 3B,1B, press box and so on, you can.
Not so much possible on TV, but with these digital streams, why can't it happen? Giving people a much different experience online vs TV would help out alot more than just "watch the game online because you can watch it from anywhere on any device" which isn't as big of a selling point anymore.Comment

Re: 6/18 - 7/1 Game Discussion Thread
So the Diamondbacks and Angels finished their two-game series yesterday, and both have a day off today.
I've never heard of a Wednesday off during the course of the regular season before (outside of like opening series' and the ASB). I thought it was only Mondays and Thursdays.
EDIT: Well, looking at the D-backs schedule it makes a lot of sense. They finished a home series against NYM on Sunday, went to Anaheim for a two-game series, then is going to Pittsburgh on Thursday. If they had that series finish on Wednesday night, they are traveling to the east coast and losing three hours whilst making a short trip with a game break from Sunday to Tuesday.
Even still, as I said... haven't seen that before. I don't use FB at all and probably never will.... but I can just imagine that after every 4th comment they talk about the number of likes they got for their comment. I assume they've set up their screens so that if you are clicking on anything else during the game, they are collecting that information.

Scott Braun did the PBP and he seemed so ill prepared it was cringe inducing. I also can't take any broadcast serious that has JP Arencibia being one of the analysts. (Mark DeRosa was the 3rd man in the booth)Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club
