Agreed. I used to be fond of some player name Curt? Chris? Brian? Whoever the previous 3B was. But now it's BOTE.Chicago Cubs | Chicago Bulls | Green Bay Packers | Michigan WolverinesComment

Also, that was an epic facial expression as Bote came down the 3B line. Up there with Scherzer's grunting tonight.Chicago Cubs | Chicago Bulls | Green Bay Packers | Michigan WolverinesComment

Except that he doesn't. He's responsible for probably a dozen or more extra bases (singles instead of outs, singles stretched into doubles, doubles into triples) to go along with those sweet assists. Statcast has him as the 9th worst outfielder in their "outs above average" metric (out of 270 players). Still not an NL player and he's not hitting enough to make up for it.Chicago Cubs | Chicago Bulls | Green Bay Packers | Michigan WolverinesComment

Here ya go guys:
#Cubs David Bote is the first player to hit a walk-off grand slam with his team down to their last strike and down three runs since Chris Hoiles on May 17, 1996.Last edited by TripleCrown9; 08-12-2018, 10:57 PM.Boston Red Sox

Edwin Diaz becomes only the 4 pitcher ever to record 4 saves in a series, joining Joe Nathan, John Wettland, Kent Tekulve, and Sparky Lyle.
I wonder if he is a serious Cy Young contender at this point. He will definitely get some votes.

Personally, I'd love all the AL west brothers to surge and put three teams in the playoffs.Oakland Athletics San Jose Sharks

Re: 7/30 - 8/12 Game Discussion Thread
Red Sox sweeping the O's is the least surprising thing to happen all weekend long, and that includes the Barry Bonds stuff we've known about for a year, and mentioned on here for what feels like 2 years.
On Monday, Jays will have Sean Reid-Foley starting and will be caught by Danny Jansen. BOTH guys making their MLB debut. I'm sure it's happened alot more recently and often than I think, but when was last time we saw a starting pitcher AND catcher making their MLB debut together (or at the very least, NOT including September callups)? And who gets the first ball of the game?Last edited by Majingir; 08-12-2018, 10:50 PM.Comment

Anyway who cares David Bote is the man. All he does is hit baseballs very hard. anyone know if they can do Javy and Bote as Co-MVP's?Wolverines Packers Cubs Celtics

Re: 7/30 - 8/12 Game Discussion Thread
so would you rather trot Almora's fantastic defense and barley league average bat out there every day over Schwarber? I'm more than fine with Schwarber out there. I will die on that hill. There will be some misplays every now and then but the Bat and the on base skills more than makes up for it.
