Didn't get to watch the Cubs today and I'm very thankful after looking at the score. Incredible how mediocre this team has become with the talent it has. Quintana's magic against the Brewers (and in general) appears totally gone. That trade for Q is looking mighty bad at present. Getting 3-hit, 10-K'd by Jhoulys Chacin is also a bad look.

Just a lifeless team when Hamels isn't pitching and Bote isn't playing. With just 44 games left to play, the Cubs are running out of time for people to get healthy or to get on any sort of finishing kick.

Yeah this isn't the same guy as last year. I think i remember him touching 95 in some starts last year most of his starts this year is 91-92 witch is fine if you are commanding. his command is awful. Those 2 pitches to Braun would've been hit out by anyone. It's disappointing considering he came off his best year last year as far as K rate. I think he might be hurt but that's off of nothing concrete.

Yeah the trade is going to look really bad especially with Cease looking legit as well. Just hope he can get back to that solid 2/3 guy.

on the offense I'm not in Panic mode. But with Javy cooling off someone needs to step up. I like Len or JD's idea to move Rizzo back to 3rd hole and place one of the slumping hitters at the top to get some guys going.

Update: Cano indeed back. James Paxton gets drilled in the throwing arm from a line drive right at him and immediately leaves the game. Sigh.

Puig initiated the contact and then threw a slap punch at Hundley. Hundley initiated the encounter though by arguing with Puig at the plate. Dunno why; Puig was just upset that he fouled off a hanging breaking ball.
