It's not like the players at the MLB level are hurting financially. I do think they'll look to reduce the service time requirement before hitting FA, though.

The way things are trending with player ages, they will be hurting. They are giving up their best years for peanuts (well, $0.5m aint peanuts but it won't set you up for life) and by the time they hit free agency, no one wants to give them big contracts anymore because 30 is now old. Something big is going to have to happen, maybe adding another year of cheap team control in order to cut 2 years off arbitration, something like that, as it's only going to trend younger

Doesn't look like the Jays are going to pull off the sweep today Hopefully Monina will hit another HR at some point.

BTW regarding the Phillies, i'm very impressed by young Roman Quinn. He's got athleticism up the wazoo and speed to burn. Kind of reminds me of a better and speedier Ben Revere. He really brings a charge to that Phillies lineup and I could see him being their leadoff hitter for years to come.
