Why can't Nationals play at FedEX?

Why don't they play at the home of the Redskins for 2-3 years? Is there some type of contract or what not that won't allow them to do so?

I would assume a stadium would have to be built with the intentions of being able to support something like that. Fed Ex more than likely wasn't.
    Michigan Wolverines
    Chicago White Sox

That's exactly right. Fed Ex Field would have to undergo major renovation to support baseball. And many times, it costs more to renovate then to just build a new one. Don't forget that some of the $500 million for the new stadium includes renovations to RFK.

Actually they can't even if they wanted to. Legislation was passed that Fed Ex would never be used for baseball. I'll give you one guess as to who was pushing for that.

The City Council, perhaps? Why didn't they speak up before the mayor made the deal? Could it be that they wanted MLB to pay for everything? Pretty interesting, though. I never heard about that.

I don't think you realize that Fed Ex field is not actually located in D.C., but in landover, MD, and the legislation i'm talking about was passed by md people.

Where is DC United goign to play nest season? They can't play at RFK.

To be honest, I did not know that. So, the people of Maryland voted to not allow baseball in the football stadium? What was the reasoning for that?
