Former Blue Jays Manager...
Bobby Mattick died thursday night of a stroke at his home in Scottsdale Arizona. Mattick managed the Blue Jays in 1980-81 and has been the teams Vice President since 1984. Mattick was one of the Blue Jays original employee's, he joined the team as scouting supervisor in 1976.

You know without Bobby Mattick the Blue Jays would never have turned out the be the team that they were in the 80s. I'm telling you he was the most important employee of the team cept for Pat Gillick. Mattick was the one that found most of the talent that were on the team throughout the 80s and he was a popular manager with the players. IN fact if it wasn't for Gillick hiring Bobby Cox then Mattick would've probably have managed for the majority of the decade.
This has been a tremendously bad year for the Blue Jays organization and I just hope that '05 will be better.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club
