The Fantasy Benefit - I'm reading it and it has a TON of content and is more than worth the price. $7.50 for the digital version, $10.41 for hard copy. Most fantasy mags are about $10.

One of my favorite things about prospectus is the sheer amount of sly humor in various player profiles.
Also, I thought I had another week to go, but I'm just now leaving Barnes and Noble with my 2019 baseball America prospect handbook in tow. It didn't immediately occur to me yesterday but Padres SS prospect F. Tatis Jr., who's on the cover, is he tradebait now or moves to another position?OSFM23 - Building Better Baseball - OSFM23

Re: Best MLB magazine
Here's a couple from last year: White Sox Jake Peter is a slap-hitting 2B prospect who doesn't slap quite enough to merit much excitement. Aptly, his name rhymes with ‘‘Fake Jeter.‘‘
And
Although Blake Wood's sinker touches 99 mph, putting in a waiver claim on a Reds reliever feels a little like ordering sushi from the gas station.
And
Do you like lima beans and hate pizza? Do you like walks and hate strikeouts? The Daniel Wright is your man. His changeup is kinda good, so at least there's that.OSFM23 - Building Better Baseball - OSFM23

Re: Best MLB magazine
The thing that caught me off guard is how big it is. I was expecting a small-ish handbook but this thing is massive and packed to the gills with detail. I'm in love! I skipped straight to the Braves chapter and it starts with the author telling a story about showing up early to a party at his boss's house and being too young and naive to know better. He also talks about the unexpected benefits of doing so. He compares that with the baby Braves showing up a year or 2 early to the party (playoffs). It's great! I can't wait to get back to it.Last edited by bravo2208; 02-23-2019, 02:02 PM.Braves | Titans | VolunteersComment

Quick question does that book has a projected batting order and pitching rotation? Here's a couple from last year: White Sox Jake Peter is a slap-hitting 2B prospect who doesn't slap quite enough to merit much excitement. Aptly, his name rhymes with ‘‘Fake Jeter.‘‘

Re: Best MLB magazine
I've got BP 19. There's no projected batting order or rotation. It's not like the old-fashioned preview magazines in that way.
It has 3-4 page essay on each team (these vary widely, the Cubs one is written by Ron Swanson and mostly talks about his childhood) and then detailed stat projections and short writeups on all major leaguers and important minor leaguers.Comment

Re: Best MLB magazine
BP 19 might be the best book I've ever bought. It's perfect for a baseball junkie, such as myself. I'm looking forward to taking a refresher in 5-10 years and seeing how the scouts' projections turned out. Vlad Jr.'s profile is the stuff of legend. The author speaks about him as if he's going to save baseball and ice skate to the HOF.Braves | Titans | VolunteersComment
