Digging these A's uniforms...these look like 1970's throwbacks?

Also...way early, but average game time is running at 2 hr, 50 minutes after two days. At the same point last year it was 3 hr, 15 minutes...games have seemed faster to me, but it doesn't seem like anything I would have noticed.

They're the ones they debuted last year, for the 50th anniversary of the move to California.

Goldy gets one more crack in the 9th.

Or not. The Brewers IBB him in a 4 run game in the 9th, with first base open.

It's a divsional game that's not completely out of reach....so I kinda get it.

All this without a pitch clock.

Players can say all they want, but there are parts of games that can be sped up. If old school games were done so quickly, and Mark Buehrle games were done in 2.5hrs, you can't say "baseball is a game that takes 3 hours, you can't change baseball". Clearly it has been proven to go by quick, even in higher scoring/higher pitch count games.

Some people work fast. Other people work slow.

It's why there's variance in game times. And that's fine. Because there's result variance.

Cory Gearrin and the Mariners just made a sick 1-2-3 double play, given the circumstances.

And the Giants have shown that the only player who is able to produce runs for them in the first two games of each season is Joe Panik.

EDIT: I'm happy to have spoken too soon. Watch me call this now, though: the Padres will put in their closer because it has now become a save situation.

SECOND EDIT: Yup. Thing is though, Yates is incredible. I understand putting him in, but there's no reason he shouldn't have been put in to start the ninth or isn't being put in later during this ninth.

Anyway, the Giants' biggest problem, bar none, is facing the soft-throwing lefty. They had a stretch of facing like ten straight lefties once last year, and I think they probably lost all ten games. That's why we have right-handed hitters like Connor Joe up in the majors when he hit .240 in Spring Training and hasn't ever played up here before. Yet another lefty in our lineup would have just been detrimental.
