Re: jay mariotti leaves/gets fired from wmvp

I have only seen Mariotti on ESPN's Around the Horn and i can see why he fits in so well on that show, it's a who's who of the worst sports writers in the country!!. Mariotti, Bill Plachske, J.A. Adande, Bob Ryan, T.J. Simers the list goes on. I can't stand Mariotti on that show so i can't imagine what it must have been like to listen to him on the radio.
The Chicago airwaives will definately be better for this!.

As a Cubs fan I am pissed too about they way they handled Chip and Steve. They too are an embaressment and couldnt handle the truth that Dusty baker is a clown and doesnt know his a** from a hole in the ground. Oh well this will never end, the Knicks did it to Marv and replaced him with that ESPN a** licker who works with Walton on basketabll broadcasts. According to him every call a ref makes is the best call in the world. And you replaced a legand like Marv for a joke this this .

Don't forget Woody Paige. The last episode of that show that I ever watched was one in which Paige stated that he had a Football Hall of Fame vote, but that he would not vote for Tim Brown because he wasn't a top notch receiver. Over a 1,000 catches and not a top notch receiver? What a *******.

I actually didn't mind Mariotti, when he was on Sporting News Radio. He didn't seem over the top to me, but the Chicago folks probably know him way better than I do.

I didnt mind Mariotti so much. I remember when Bayless was here. I thought he was more off base than Marriotti ever was. Harrelson sucks so he has 0 credibility aside from the fact that he might be in good with Reinsdorf. This is just lame. Does anyone remember the Bulls ad campaign suggesting that if you didnt support Reinsdorfs crap product (ie the Bulls circa 2001) you were a bandwagon fan? Rick Telander is like a Rick Reilly clone (too much info on his daughters and too much dad humor). Marriotti is/was the least of anyones problems. If anyone has heard Harrelson carry on about how great Jose Valentin is then they would likewise know is more untruthful except its tolerated because hes being positive- and the powers that be like that apparently. The best newspaper sportswriters Im familiar with are Kravitz and Ryan.
