I look for Cleveland to sweep Minnesota this weekend & really tighten that AL Central race right up. If I was a betting man, I think I'd probably bet the Twinkies dont even make the post-season as a wildcard.the way I see the American League come October: division winners - Yankees Indians & Astros - _ - wild card - Red Sox and.... Rangers. ALCS Yankees over Astros.

Hmmm...why do you say that? It’s not like the Twins have done it with smoke and mirrors...they have been killing people.

I think the way Minnesota has played their last 30 games is closer to the team they are than what they did through their first 40 or 50 games. call it a hunch.

Cardinals send Yadier to the 10 Day IL and activate Matt Carpenter.

Hopefully Carpenter can get things going in the 2nd half of the season.

You can't use recent game stretches to talk about how good/bad of a team they are at the moment. That is considered trolling!

I'm still sticking with Minnesota to win the division. Target Field is better than Progressive Field and you really don't need to say much else to reason why the Twins should win the division.

Adam Wainwright scratched from tonight's start due to a sore back.

Daniel Ponce DeLeon will start instead.

2nd half off to a fantastic start injury wise.

Great outing for Darvish. Shame it's not going to result in a W for him (again).

lol, ok then, I hopped in my flying Delorean and picked up this sports almanac that has every score for the next 50 years. And '19 isnt '91.

Plus, the Twins uni's aren't as sweet as the other teams

With the Twins, I could totally see people being skeptical about them because they've done nothing before this year for quite some time. That being said, I also think there's a distinction to be made between a team "not being as good as its record" (i.e. good W/L and bad run differential) vs a team that is actually very good but came on in a surprising way.

The Twins currently have the best run differential in the AL, but they also play in the weakest division in baseball. If you look at their 1st half schedule, you notice that they've been cleaning house against the likes of Chicago (AL), Detroit, Kansas City, Baltimore, and Seattle. But, they've been playing about even (or not even that good) against the likes of New York (AL), Boston, Oakland, Houston and so forth. The schedule has just had way more tomato cans on it than quality opponents.

It's really just a matter of beating the teams they're supposed to be beating. The Twins have been doing a great job of that (I wish I could say as much for the Cubs..). If the Twinkies keep doing that, and Cleveland's offense remains this flaccid, then the Twins will win the division for sure. I don't really consider the Twins to be a World Series contender, but winning the division would be nice.

Tonight is the first time in MLB history that two games both have starters with the same last name.

We got Sonny Gray vs Jon Gray in Denver, and Shaun Anderson against Chase Anderson at Miller Park.

Well, that's what you get for walking the guy with 2 outs to bring up the tying run, Pedro.
