I prefer the second baseman who legit thought Bauer was going to drill him for half a second

      Jays IF tonight:
      Guerrero Jr
      Biggio
      Bichette

Still think Vlad should move over to 1B, but gotta give him some years to develop at 3B.

Biggio/Bo 2B-SS duo I hope is one we see for years to come.

        Re: 7/22 - 8/4 Game Discussion Thread

Cubs are off today (light schedule of games tonight), but I hope they're saving their best ball for the Cardinals.

Was reading a mailbag article about whether Ben Zobrist would be back (and other topics) and the problems are just so many right now (bullpen is a given) such as not hitting the baseball:

Per Fangraphs, the Cubs currently rank 14th in the National League in contact rate on pitches in the strike zone (83 percent), and 15th in overall contact rate (73.3 percent) and swinging-strike rate (12.5 percent). Before going on the restricted list in May, Zobrist had an 87.4 percent contact rate in the zone, an 82.3 percent contact rate overall and a 5.5 swinging-strike rate.
Will Theo Epstein go out and get anyone at the Trade Deadline to help this team push to get to the playoffs and a World Series again? Famous last words here, but I get the feeling that any moves the Cubs make ahead of Wednesday's 3 p.m. CT Trade Deadline

Camargo and Riley looked awful in their first at-bats.

You think Hurdle is gone this offseason?

I think they have to. Team seems to have quit on him since the break, pitching staff regressed, questionable managing decisions. Same with pitching coach. I doubt they'll make any changes outside of a few position coaches though.

Lol, remember when Jays,Pirates,Royals,Mets were all playoff teams in same season. Feels like so long ago.

Now all fanbases back to their usual feelings about their teams.

Except that 2nd part doesn't matter whatsoever because it was a game at Coors, 3 at Target Field, and 3 at Fenway Park.
Coors turns routine pop flies into monster shots. Fenway has the pole which is 40 feet past first base, the green monster while tall, is basically right behind the shortstop.

Still think it would be harder to hit homers at my little league parks.

Snitker is completely lost with managing pitchers. Why was Sobotka out there facing everyone he did. Why did Snitker not play any match-ups. When the offense is playing like it has been, you gotta put just a little effort into managing the bullpen and giving the guys a chance to succeed.

Part of me wishes we would completely collapse so he could get fired, but that would never happen. We could completely miss the playoffs and his job would be safe.

I got used to it too.

Then 15/16 Jays happened and Raptors won nba title. Now I'm expecting good things.

Cant miss what you never had. Now that I had it, I want more.

We continue to run crap relievers out in key spots and then act surprised when they blow up; we will end up blowing the division and the blame will lie squarely on the shoulders of AA. He has been utterly underwhelming since taking over...I wonder which former Blue Jay he’s going to trade for this week.

First big league at bat for Bo Bichette, gets his first hit.

Jays are 1-0 in the Bo era!
