So many baseball players are uptight, passive aggressive jerks, who hide behind traditional "unwritten rules" of conduct in baseball to justify them being like that. What you see is what you get with Puig. He's not being disingenuous and phony like so many in the sport.

Or maybe it says he's just plain immature and can't deal with his emotions like grownups need to. Don't get me wrong--I'm all for the bat licks and bat flips, but I don't understand attributing/inventing favorable qualities to someone that doesn't really deserve it just because other people don't like him.

You can "have fun" and "express emotion" and "show personality" without being a ****head.

There's tons of guys like that. Tons. Ozzie and Acuna clown around more than practically anyone and it's not insufferable or annoying at all.

Yasiel Puig is not one of those guys.

I remember watching this kid play at Louisville. I always thought he'd be a pro some day, just didn't think he'd have this type of impact this quickly.

Watching the Giants game on delay on the DVR, and Jon Miller just said:

"Alex Dickerson was in the original lineup for the Giants (the left-handed hitter with the right-hander going), but the back was acting up... so he had to be scratched."

One of those things that he'll never notice he said.

I was more worried about the cookie he let go and then the helmet high pitch he swung through. But, yeah, any hit w/RISP is cause for opening a bottle of champagne.
