Wow, this is exactly the type of thing that I was talking about over on the NBA board when the subject of Kobe and his donation came up.
This is just ridiculous.
They Yankees are donating a million dollars to the tsunami relief fund, very class move on their part. But, of course, there are going to be a couple idiots in the group who go and turn a generous act on the part of the Yankees into a villainous act. I know, yeah, I hate the Yankees, too. But they are donating money to an area that was just ravaged by a natural disaster.
How can you be so self-centered to think that everything that the Yankees, or any sports franchise, or any individual athlete, for that matter, are doing this solely for their own benefit and to make themselves look good? What does every damn thing in this world that revolves around the Yankees have to be evil and vile? Believe it or not, no matter how you want to see it in your narrow little world, that isn't the case. No one is pointing out these acts and trying to "one-up" one another. Athletes and sports teams run under a microscope, you should know this by now. If some NBA players, some MLB team, whoever, is going to donate a large amount of money, of course it is going to get attention. How the hell does it hurt you that Selig makes one little comment complimenting the Yankees for doing a very noble thing? But, oh no, everything just has to be Red Sox/Yankees.
How much money have you donated?
God, you make me sick.
