The Chicago Cubs announced today they will retire Ryne Sandberg's number 23 this season, becoming only the 4th Cub to have his number retired. The date for the ceremony is still TBA.

I use to love watching Sandberg play. Outstanding defensive player and when you look up the words professional hitter, you will see a picture of Sandberg.
He was a QB when he was in High School, good thing he made the right choice to play Baseball. -

No, but seriously, his number should be retired and its good to see the Cubs are giving him that honor. Sandberg's already had to wait longer than he should have for his call to Cooperstown. Its good the Cubs aren't making him wait further.Comment
