    Old All-Star Games in YouTube

With some time on my hands during this pandemic, I started watching some All-Star Game highlights and full games from the 70s and 80s on YouTube. This was my favorite event to watch growing up as a kid and I'm enjoying reliving some of those moments. YouTube is great.
Watched highlights of the 1973 game in KC and just started watching the full 1981 game in Cleveland, the year of the split season due to the strike.
Love seeing the uniforms of that era, especially during the pregame introductions. I remember most of the players from the era, but it's neat coming across a player you don't remember, who was probably a one-year wonder.
Also cool seeing shots of the crowds, the different fashion and hairstyles of the time.
Loving these trips down memory lane.
It's on me. I shook his hand too hard. It was a hard ... kind of a slap-shake.

I'm partial to the 1980 All-Star Game in Los Angeles which I tune in for every now and then. Back then, there were no festivities like you see now. I had a friend that attended "batting practice" the day before and it was free to the public. No Home Run Derby contest, celebrity game, etc. Hard to believe that it took 40 years before Dodger Stadium was awarded another game (that ain't happening now), but not surprised since cities that opened up new stadiums during the building boom were awarded the game as a "reward."

rewatched the '83 All-Star game recently. it was the first All-Star game I watched as a kid (became aware of MLB in '81, began following in earnest in '82). enjoyed rewatching the '83 game, just wish it would have been more competitive for more than 2 innings
